About the Faculty
The Departments of Banking and Finance, Business
Administration, Economics, International Relations, and
Political Sciences offer distinct but integrated areas of
study, designed to enable motivated students to develop
their knowledge of local and international economic and
political relations, together with an understanding of the
technological and human aspects of the global environment,
in order to find creative solutions to problems and make
responsible decisions in an increasingly complex world. The
programs offered by the Faculty thus provide essential
training and expertise, both for students who wish to
continue their studies at graduate level and for those who
pursue careers which will make a direct contribution to the
development and welfare of their countries.
Educational Objectives
The primary objective of the Faculty of Business and
Economics is to educate students in the concepts and
approaches of banking, business, economics, finance and
international relations, political science and public
administration in preparation for careers in which they may
make significant and lasting contributions to the
contemporary world. The Faculty offers programs of study
consistent with its educational aim of preparing men and
women to be leaders of enterprise; professionals with the
individualism, insight and strength of will to manage
effectively, and with the sensitivity and understanding of
their environment and others which makes teamwork possible.
Students in the Departments of the Faculty of Business and
Economics follow a two-tiered curriculum, with foundation
courses during the first two years providing preparation for
specialized courses during the junior and senior years, when
each student selects a focused minor concentration within
the major field of study in his or her Department.
