YOK Delegation pays a visit to EMU. |
A delegation from the Council of Higher Education of the Turkish Republic, carrying out an official visit to our country, paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University President Prof.Dr.Ufuk Taneri on October 7, 2008 Tuesday. The delegation included Prof.Dr.İzzet Özgenç-Vice President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof.Dr.Yekta Saraç-Executive Board member, and Prof.Dr.Enver Hasanoğlu- member.
President Taneri expressed her thanks to the YOK delegation for their visit to EMU, which they were very familiar with and which they described as the biggest university holding a leading position amongst all the others on the Island. President Taneri briefed the delegation on the recent developments at EMU and their new goals. The YOK delegation left the university with good impressions and prior to their departure, they stressed the significance of exchange of ideas.
Vice-Presidents Prof.Dr.Derviş Deniz, Assist.Prof.Dr. Eralp Bektaş and Assist. Prof.Dr. Kadir Atlansoy, Rector’s Coordinator for Social & Cultural Affairs Assist.Prof.Dr.Arif Akkeleş and Rector’s Advisor Assoc.Prof.Dr.Hasan Cicioğlu were at the meeting. President Taneri presented the members of the delegation with some promotional materials and gifts as symbolic representations of EMU and Cyprus.
